Nasyam is a nasal therapy, in which warm medicated oil is administered through the nostrils after the face and neck are prepared with massage and steam. Every session begins with a physician assessment, so the medicine, the number of drops, and the course length are matched to what your body actually needs. It is not a decongestant drop. It is a therapeutic treatment that clears the head, settles recurring headaches, and reaches what sits above the collarbone.

Nasyam is the classical Ayurvedic practice of administering medicine through the nasal passage to treat conditions of the head, face, and neck. In Ayurvedic texts, the nose is described as the doorway to the head, which is why medicine delivered here is held to act directly on the structures above the collarbone rather than travelling to them.
The medicine is not simply dropped in. The face, forehead, and neck are first massaged and steamed to loosen what has settled there; the head is positioned at a precise angle, and a counted number of warm drops are placed in each nostril while you breathe in. What follows matters as much as the instillation itself: gargling, a warm compress, and rest allow the medicine to do its work.
Clears blocked sinuses, facial heaviness, and the recurring congestion that returns every season.
Reduces the frequency and intensity of migraines, tension headaches, and pain behind the eyes.
Eases neck stiffness, shoulder tension, and the headaches that travel up from a strained cervical spine.
Nourishes the scalp at its root and supports healthy hair growth, texture, and colour retention.
Settles sneezing, itching, and dust sensitivity, and quiets a restless mind before sleep.
Each session follows a fixed sequence. Your physician decides the medicine, the dose, and the course length based on your assessment, so no two sessions are identical.
A short physician assessment of your constitution, complaints, and current dosha state, followed by selection of the right medicated oil or preparation.
The face, forehead, scalp, neck, and shoulders are massaged with warm oil to open the region and release surface tension.
A gentle herbal steam or warm compress over the face and neck softens accumulated congestion so the medicine can travel freely.
You lie back with the head tilted at a set angle while warm medicine is placed drop by drop into each nostril and inhaled steadily.
Warm water gargling, a light throat and chest rub, and a short period of quiet rest complete the session before you leave.
At Mukthi, we believe healthcare is more than just treatment. It is about restoring confidence, comfort, and peace of mind.
No session begins without a physician examining you first. Your constitution, digestion, sinus history, and current complaints decide which preparation is used and how many drops are given.
Our medicated oils are prepared at our own facility using classical formulations and raw herbs we source and verify ourselves. We know how long each batch was cooked and what went into it.
Nasyam depends on precision: the angle of the head, the warmth of the oil, the count of the drops. Our therapists are trained in classical technique and repeat it identically across every session of a course.

Nasyam is a short, well-tolerated therapy, but it is timing-sensitive and not suitable for everyone at every moment. A physician’s assessment before your first session tells us whether the therapy is right for you now, and which preparation your body will respond to.

Answers to what patients most often ask before booking their first Nasyam session.
No. Over-the-counter drops shrink the nasal lining for a few hours and often stop working with repeated use. Nasyam uses medicated oils chosen by a physician, given after massage and steam, in a counted dose. The intent is to reduce how often the problem returns, not to mask it for an afternoon.
Plan for about 45 minutes at the clinic. The instillation itself takes only a few minutes, with the remaining time given to the face massage, steam, gargling, and a short rest afterwards.
Nasyam is usually given as a course of seven or fourteen consecutive mornings. Chronic sinus and migraine complaints often need the longer course, followed by a seasonal maintenance schedule your physician will set.
There is a brief warm, sharp sensation in the nose and throat, and you may cough or feel the oil at the back of the throat. It passes within a minute. Most patients describe the session overall as relaxing.
Come early in the day on a light stomach, with a gap of at least two hours after eating. Do not bathe just before the session. Keep the rest of your morning free of cold exposure and travel in dust.
Nasyam is generally avoided during active menstruation and through pregnancy. It is also postponed during acute cold with complete blockage. Speak to our physician before booking.
